Ipu Seeds Planted

We spent the past week preparing this field for planting. Here it is just before plowing…

Thanks to my dad for doing the tractor work and for being our farm consultant. A big mahalo goes out to Noel for letting us borrow this huge tractor! And an extra big mahalo to Jr (Junior’s Jewels) for providing his advice and expertise on drip irrigation!

After the plowing was done, Kent and I put in the fertilizer and covered it by hand (since we’re limited on farm implements)…I have to admit, this was pretty hard work! Then we laid out the irrigation and covered the rows with plastic mulch.

That was enough work for one day!
Yesterday we planted our 4th of July ipu seeds. I’ll definitely update in a week or so and hopefully we’ll have sprouts.
